Energy Retrofits
Are you looking for a cost-effective opportunity to replace building components with new assemblies that increase comfort and reduce energy? We work with you to evaluate possible improvements, understand payback periods, and research financial incentives. As part of the assessment, design, and construction, we provide testing services to evaluate the building and associated work.

Many of our assessments and investigations result in recommendations for repair or targeted renewal to address the original performance concern. When these come up, we work with you from start to finish to quickly and cost-effectively implement the required change.
Construction
Management
For select exterior renewal projects, we offer construction management services to bring you increased control, cost-saving opportunities, and scheduling flexibility. We take care of everything — coordinate contracts with Trade Contractors and material suppliers, provide site supervision to manage the Trades, schedule the work, and manage the safety of the site. Our team manages the budget and schedule to give you a smooth and professional project.
Envelope Assessments & Investigations
We’ve been helping people with their buildings for years, and it’s given us a wealth of experience in providing accurate diagnoses and prudent paths forward. Our services include envelope assessments, leak investigations, performance assessments, and general problem solving. We’re skilled at finding and solving issues with your building. Energy Modelling & Testing
We provide energy model services to suit a wide range of construction projects. Whether you’re looking for Passive House, net-zero ready, Energy Step Code Compliant, or just a really good house — we can help you out. Our testing services are not just crafted to confirm compliance to a standard, but we work with the Builders, Owners, and Trades to diagnose issues and further improve the building envelope.
Passive House Consulting
We have a certified Passive House Designer and a Passive House Tradesperson on staff, and are a Licensed Residential Builder in good standing with BC Housing. We are passionate about high-performance building envelopes and love working with Owners who want to construct an energy-efficient building. Licensed Service Organization
Method Engineering is a Licensed Service Organization through Natural Resources Canada. We assist in delivering the EnerGuide housing programs, and work with Energy Advisors and Builders to provide file management, technical support, and quality assurance. For potential Energy Advisors interested in training, we offer the Probationary File Training Program and NRCan registration.
EnerGuide Evaluations
For Homeowners, there are significant financial incentives to completing energy upgrades to your house. We work with Homeowners and Contractors to provide EnerGuide Evaluations, which are required for the Federal Greener Homes Program. Click here to get started.
New Construction Envelope Support
We identify unique site conditions and design solutions before they have a chance to become a problem. We’ll review drawings, details, and specifications for performance, material compatibility, constructability, and cost-effectiveness. Our field reviews and mock-ups are valuable tools to ensure performance, schedule, and costs are appropriately managed during construction. Our hands-on experience gives us an ability to work with Architects, Designers, and Trade Contractors that is unmatched in Victoria. Our understanding of design and construction is a hallmark of our service and one of the greatest assets we bring to construction projects.
Litigation Support
We provide building envelope expert opinion services as part of warranty claims and litigation support.
Warranties
When it comes to building warranties, we have extensive experience working with Owners, Builders, Trade Contractors, and Warranty Providers. We provide warranty reviews, performance verification testing, and claim support services.
